Elaine's story

I had passed on the photo fun challenge to my sister who doesn't blog herself but is always visiting mine and leaving me wonderful comments. This is what she sent. I hope you enjoy her story and her as much as I do. She's a wonderful woman and I am very honored God has allowed me to be sister. Even though we are 8 years apart (I am the oldest), we are so much alike - we have even been asked if we are twins - boy that question makes me feel good everytime :) She is amazing and beautiful!!

Here's her photo and her story:

When my sweet sister Janet asked me to do this, I was a little afraid of what my “6th” picture would be. But as I found it I discovered a wonderful memory that I hold dear to my heart. To the left is Jake, who has been my best friend since we were little kids. To the right is Chuck, Jake's cousin, and my other best friend. Chuck and I didn't meet until we were freshmen in high school, but once we did it was as though we had been friends forever. This picture was taken in December 2007 at my parent’s home. Before I go further I will let you know that in the middle is me, Elaine, Janet's sister. Okay. When this picture was taken, Jake was about to leave for Iraq for his second term and came home for a visit. He lives in Oklahoma and we live in North Carolina. We were so excited to see him. Jake and Chuck are more like brothers than cousins .... and I guess you could say that I'm their little sister. The walking stick you see is mine. I was in an accident in 1986 which left me a paraplegic. These two guys have always watched over me and have always made sure that I never fall. They truly are a wonderful gift from God to me. They are like brothers in my life and I am so blessed to have them. Chuck and I talk all the time and we can't wait for Jake to come home in April. I'm so thankful that this was the picture you got to see and read about for you have just met two of God's most amazing creations.

Hope you have a great evening.

Janet
