First Alteration

Happy Friday everyone:

Well as the title states, I'm showing you my first altered project. I have a very good friend here at work (hey Jaci) who asked me to alter a frame for her which she is going to give as a gift to the rescue mission who saved her horse, Hudson. I struggled with this one because I just couldn't get it the way I wanted it, but finally found the perfect horseshoes to put on the frame and think that all in all, it came out pretty good.

Well, it's back to work. I hope everyone has a great weekend. We are going on a canoe trip tomorrow at the Congaree State Park (I'll have to upload pictures for you to see - I have heard this place is beautiful), so I probably won't talk to anyone until Sunday.

It was a challenging weekend :)

Hi everyone:

I hope you all had a great weekend. Me and my family sure did - it was a little gloomy here in our area of the world, but we were still able to get out and about and do a few things, which is always a nice thing to do. When we came back home on Sunday, I got online to look at what challenges were out there, took a few of them and headed to my crafting table and was completely shocked by the fact that I did 5 cards in a little less than an hour and a half - that has never happened to me. I was talking to my sister a while back and told her I had over 30 birthday cards to do this month and was wondering how in the world I was going to do this, but with all the wonderful challenges out there, I haven't had any problems. I'm going to show you 4 challenges tonight, so here goes.

The first is from CPS, which is always providing us with great sketches to follow;

the second is from Janet's "The Corrosive Challenge Blog - this is the first time I have done one of her sketches and love this one;

the third is from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #39 and this was such a simple sketch and took me no time to do, which is always a HUGE plus.

Lastly, I have a color challenge from a new challenge blog, Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog. We were to use pink and yellow; I tried so hard to get my camera to take a better picture, but it just wouldn't do it - I promise that the design paper is hot pink and the Top Note die is yellow (can you tell I used my Scor-Pal - the first time and have to use it more often). I hope you get an opportunity to head over to each of these blogs and join in on the fun.

Half Way

We are half way through the week and I'm glad to say that even though it has been a busy one, it has been a pretty good week so far.

I'm going to post two challenge cards tonight because I may not be able to get on the computer for the next few days - it has been crazy at work and I have a feeling the next two days will be the same, so that will probably mean work through break and lunch, but that's okay, I'm very happy to be there. We are having an Oktoberfest after work tomorrow and I have been asked to take pictures and, of course, I couldn't say no :)

Okay, on to my cards - the first one is given to us by CPS and what a fun challenge it was. They have a wonderful sponsor this week - it's Gina K and she is absolutely fantastic - if you get a chance, go by and participate in this week's challenge.

The second is from 2 Sketches 4 You. This is the first time I have participated in Kazan's and Larau's challenges and have been meaning to for so long, but when I saw this sketch, knew I had to do it. I know that I will be doing many more to come. I apologize for it being so rry, but I was getting tired by the time I took this and didn't realize how bad it was until I uploaded it tonight.

Wow

Wow, Monday has come and gone :) It was so busy but what a great day. I was so excited to hear from everyone welcoming me back - it has meant so much to me to receive all the hellos.

I have several things to show you today - the first is a picture of Patrick on his first day of school this year (I've been meaning to get it up for a while now, but I am just now getting his pictures uploaded) - isn't he a cutie pie? I can't believe he's in the 5th grade - he will be in middle school next year - oh, how time files.

The second is a card I made using Mary's sketch challenge - she has started her own challenges over at Moe Joe Designs (I just love the name of her blog- I know I've said it before, but it's the bomb) and since my computer was down, Mary was so kind in letting me participate in the challenge a few days late. She is not only a wonderful friend, but it a great artist and you will be floored by what you see when you visit her. Please go by and say hello.

Well, it is getting late for this tired lady, so I'm off to bed. Sleep well and I'll see you tomorrow - that sounds so good.

It's Sunday afternoon already - UGH !!

Well, the title says it-the weekend is almost over-UGH!! I hope you all have had a nice one and enjoyed WCMD yesterday - it was a lot of fun to see what everyone was doing to make that day so very special and believe me it was.

Well, as you probably guessed, I have my computer up and running, FINALLY !! It's a horrible thing not having a computer to work with - I tried using Patrick's, but it was the old one I had before this one and it was so very slow that I just decided it was best not to fool with it; trying to blog and keep up at work just wasn't working for me, so I went without for a few weeks and hope it never happens again.

The card I have for you today is extremely blurry and I apologize right off for the poor quality but I didn't realize how bad it was until now and the card is now gone to the recipient. My office has a group of people who did Secret Pals a few months during the year and this was the card I made for my secret pal (she is also a great friend and I was so happy when I found out she was my secret pal). Tata is a fellow scrapbooker and this, along with some scrapbook items, as her final gift put a smile on her face, which just brightened my day.

Well, I am off to check out some more awesome blogs - I hope you have a great afternoon.
