Well hello

Hey everyone:

It has been way too long since I have posted anything and I do hope everyone is doing well.

I am so excited to pass on some exciting news with this post 😊.  I am now part of the The Merry Christmas Challenge design team and am so thankful and honored that Janis picked me to be a part of this fun team.  I'm also excited about the fact that I should have Christmas cards ready to go for next year.
This challenge is a "anything goes" Christmas card challenge and I really hope you come along and join in.

My card is relatively simple due to the fact that I have been off my creating mojo lately, but when I received word I was going to be a part of the design team, my mojo is coming back and it's amazing how much you loose when you're doing creating everyday.
Again, I hope you join in and can't wait to see all the AMAZING creations that will be shared.

"Welcome Little Miss Croghan" blog hop

I am here today to help celebrate with Lesley and Corey Croghan, and other crafters who are so happy for them, on the upcoming bundle of joy being delivered in April.  I was asked by Lori Turner a while back to participate in this exciting blog hop and I, of course, couldn't say no.  I have known Lesley a few years now and not only is she a GREAT lady, I am blessed to have her as my friend. Lesley gave me the opportunity to be a part of one of the biggest and most important times since I've been crafting - I was part of the Dynamic Duos design team and have to say, it was so much fun and I learned a lot from my fellow design team members, along with making some WONDERFUL friends.
Lesley and Corey, I am so happy for you and know baby girl Croghan will bring you many years of happiness, laughter, and lots of LOVE.   CONGRATULATIONS.

Thank you for ...

Hey everyone:
I was asked by my great friend, Debbie Henderson, to create a project using products from the Sale-A-Bration catalog and I didn't want to make a card this time, so thought of doing a scrapbook page, which is something I am going to start doing once a week.
I have been telling our daughter, Elizabeth, for a while now that I'm going to start on her scrapbook (she's 29 and I haven't even started - I'm terribly behind) and when I saw this picture, which is one of my favorites of her, knew this is the one I would use.
For this page, I used the Lift Me Up and So Very Much stamp sets from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. If you look closely, you can see that the heart on the picture was cut from the word strip and the "love" heart has been raised a little bit.  I also used the balloons from the Lift Me Up stamp set to make the right side of my page have a balloon background.  I tried something new on this page and that was to take three of my main ink colors and did the gradient color technique on my words.  I do believe I will be using this technique more often.  This was such a fun scrapbook page to create and will see myself using this layout again.  You typically see Stampin Up products on cards, but I was surprised to see how easy it was to use on pages.
Thanks Debbie for asking me to do this and look forward to the next project 😊

Sending smiles

Happy Sunday everyone:

Last month my friend, Debbie Henderson, asked a few of her team members to participate in a swap and since I had never done that before, thought I would give it a try 😊and it was a lot of fun. We were to use a stamp set from the occasions catalog and love the Lift Me Up stamp set so had to use that one.

There were four ladies who participated and knew the sentiment would be perfect since we live apart.  I can't wait to get their cards.

Here is what I created for the swap.  I have really been on a distress ink blending kick lately and just loved putting these ink colors together.  The big balloon was die cut and painted by using ink and a watercolor brush.
I can't wait for another one.

Winter thanks

Good morning:
Yesterday was a rainy and gloomy day, so you know what that means :) it was a great day to create and I did that for sure :)

I started off by going through the challenges I like and came up with a handful to work on.  These are the two challenges I picked for the first card I worked on.  I am using the Freshly Made Sketches and Curtain Call challenges.
I  went through my scrap paper and came up with these beautiful winter paper.  I didn't realize until I started writing up this post that the icicle colors didn't match my colors, but I'm still going to submit it because I was thinking icicles.

This card was so much fun to create and I just love all the sparkle.
I'm watching YouTube videos of CHA 2017 and wow, I'm blown away by all the great new products coming up (can we say Tim Holtz is the best and has so many great ideas).

Have a great day
