Dynamic Duos #76

You are having trouble believing that we are getting ready to start the last week of August 2013?  I know that I am.  Where has this year gone?  It has been a busy week, with Patrick starting 9th grade :( but I know he is going to enjoy it (being in the marching band last year has helped the transition much easier).
On to the color combo at Dynamic Duos this week and what beautiful colors they are (I didn't have any crisp cantaloupe cardstock so I substituted it with blushing bride, which was perfect).  I can tell I will be using these colors more often.  I created several cards using this color (even did a Christmas card) but thought this was the best one out of all of them.
I hope you head over and join in on the fun this week.

It's Spiderman

I was asked by a friend some time ago if I would make her son a birthday card with Spiderman as the theme. Well, of course, I would, but I tell you, that was one of the hardest cards I have ever created. I tried so many different ways to make this card, even used punches to create his body, but it never worked to my liking. Well, I printed off his head, colored it in and then used baker's twine to create a web. I must say, I am really pleased with how this turned out. Hopefully she will be just as happy.

Have a great evening.

Oh my goodness ...

... I just realized the post I had set up for last week's Dynamic Duos challenge didn't go live :(  The past few weeks has been a very difficult one both at work and here at home and I ask that you please keep me in your prayers for the next few weeks because I'm not sure how they will go.

Dynamic Duos #65

Hey everyone:

Are you guys as happy as I am about the fact that it's Saturday?  Whew, I sure am.
This week's color combination at Dynamic Duos is so pretty and I loved working with them and hope you will have just as much fun.
I'm sorry for the short post, but hope to be back later this week.

Take on SCS Featured Stamper

Today's SCS Featured Stamper is Wanda Guess and her cards are so much fun and colorful so I wanted to take advantage of one of her cards :)  My friend from work, Pheobee, and I work with a wonderful lady in North Carolina and has been so helpful to us over the past few months that we wanted to send her a thank you card to let her know that we appreciate all she does (we tell her via email often, but thought this show her in a better way just how much we do).  I found the below card in her gallery and fell in love with it.
I just love the flowers she used and since I didn't have this exact stamp thought Stampin Up's Pleasant Poppies would work great.  Wanda also did water-coloring, but I am not very good at that, so used colored pencils instead.   I hope you get a chance to look through Wanda's gallery and CASE one of her wonderful creations.  Here's my take on Wanda's card.

Have a great evening

Congratulations

Happy Sunday.  Boy, it is muggy here in South Carolina today, but it looks like this week is going to be great with regard to lower temperatures :)
Today I am showing you a card using Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #190.  Karen always comes up with the greatest sketches and this one was fabulous.
I was asked to make a very special congratulations card and this turned out really well I thought.  The lady getting married loves butterflies and knew this would have to be a staple on her card.
I'm off to create more things because it is too hot to get outside, which suits me just fine, because me and the sun just don't agree :)

Have a great one

Dynamic Duo #64 and Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday :)  Boy am I glad it finally got here, wow, what a week.  I don't want to say it was busy or crazy because it seems like my weeks have all been this way lately, but it was very unusual and that's all I'll say about that :)
Today is the day Dynamic Duos brings you a new color challenge and this weeks challenge is AMAZING.  I love these two colors together (I didn't have strawberry slush, so used melon mambo instead, but I think it worked).
My wonderful friend Jennifer celebrated her birthday yesterday and knew these two colors would be great for a special card for her.  Jennifer I hope you had a great birthday.  I also used the sketch over at Mojo Monday and tried something new for me.  I did a circle card :)
I was really excited to give it a try, but since it was something new to me, had to ask my daughter Elizabeth if it looked okay before I used it :)  She has been so inspirational to me the last few months because my mojo had disappeared there for a while and she has been fabulous in helping me in getting it back - thanks Elizabeth, love you.
I hope you will join us create with this wonderful combination this week and can't wait to see what you show us.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
