Thinking of you

I am doing this right now - I am thinking of you all and am hoping you have a great week.  My great friend Jennifer and I went to a Stamp 'n Stack class this weekend given by a wonderful Stampin Up consultant, Debbie.  We get to make 16 cards and just love these in colors SU has this year.  I am making plans on getting the papers and inks before they retire this year.  I'll be back tomorrow to show you another one fro the class.

Thanks for coming by and I would love to hear from you.

Well, I started ...

... out with Monday, Monday and now I am very happy to say Happy Friday, let the weekend begin :)  I hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to some relaxation.  What a busy few weeks it has been for me and I am loving it except for the fact that I haven't talked with many of my awesome blogging friends and for this I'm sorry.  It is my intention to catch up everyone this weekend.  With it being so pretty outside, it's hard to stay inside.
I did this birthday card for a friend at work and even though I'm not a big button user, I am hoping to do it more because I have seen some beautiful cards using them.  I was not very happy with this, but my friend really liked it, so I was glad of that.  It's like we always tell Patrick with regard to his trumpet, practice makes perfect, so I'll just keep practicing with buttons and hope to get there soon - they are fun to use, I must say.

Have a great weekend and I will talk to you soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

Free stamp opportunity

Hey everyone:

My great friend Wendy is the co-owner of Repeat Impressions and has her new blog up and going (The House that Stamps Built - you must read the story on how she got started, it's wonderful).  She is celebrating her birthday soon and to celebrate this, she is giving away a free stamp set if she is able to get 24 comments on her blog.  Please head on over, say hello and welcome Wendy to the blogging world.  I first met Wendy at the Stamp, Scrap & Art Tour 3 years ago when they came to Columbia - she is the sweetest lady and I always look forward to talking with her when she's not traveling all over the place :)

Wendy, I hope you have a very Happy Birthday.   Please go by and say hey, you'll be glad you did.

The beginning of a new week

I hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to the new one coming up.  Daylight savings time started this morning and I can already tell the difference in loosing an hour of sleep, but am hoping that it doesn’t take too long for me to get adjusted.
birthday
My good friend Misty’s birthday was at the end of February and she loves the color purple.

When I was going through my embossing folders, I found this one from Stampin Up and knew it would be perfect for her.  Speaking of embossing folders, I was doing some work with my cuttlebug this weekend and it broke on me (I was so upset since I use that thing all the time), but luckily I have the Epic Six to work with  until I get a new one.

I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Great time in Daytona

Hey everyone:

Wow, what a great trip.  We had a fabulous time in Florida this weekend and it was very hard to come back.  I must say, though, it was very cold and had to make sure we layered up pretty good.  But that sure didn't keep us from having a blast.  It did finally warm up the day we left :)   There were so many motorcycles at bike week and it was fun watching them go up and down Main Street to be shown off - these are just a few pictures from Main Street and our trip from St. Augustine to Daytona Beach.  We also went to the racetrack while we were there - what a neat place.  I just loved Dale Earnhardt and it was little sad when I saw him up on the side of the track.  The other pictures are from our hotel room, a pelican from the place we had lunch (oh man, seafood is good when it’s fresh), a few of the ocean and the last one is mine and Jim’s shadow on the way back to our hotel on Saturday (I love the water in the background).

I was sad, however, that I wasn't able to meet up with Deb - we were talking before I left and come to find out she lives only 45 minutes away from St. Augustine.  We had discussed that if I had some time, we were going to try and get together, but I tell you, we got up and left the hotel every morning around 9:00 a.m. and usually didn't get back until around 10:00 at night.  I am planning a trip for this fall and am going to make sure we get together then, so Deb have your calendar ready for a "save the date" soon :)

I have missed all my friends and am excited about talking to them in the next couple of days.

Have a great one and I'll talk with you soon.

Happy Birthday ...

... to our oldest son Jared.  He is 24 years old today and I still cannot believe that my little baby is a grown man going to college, living on his own and doesn't need me as much anymore :(  Jared is a great inspiration to many kids - he is the after-school coordinator at the YMCA here in Lexington and I just beam when I go see him and the kids look at him with such admiration. - he is wonderful with kids (I think it's because he's still a big kid himself).  It sure  does make this momma proud :)  We won't be able to celebrate his birthday with him since we are in Daytona, but I'm sure we'll make it up to him soon.
Jared, me, daddy, Elizabeth and Patrick just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY and hope it's a great day for you (enjoy the Chinese that I'm sure you'll head to after work).

Love you

I'm on my way ...

Well, we are on our way to St. Augustine and Daytona Beach for the weekend and boy am I looking forward to it.  We are going on the motorcycle, so it will be cold going down (29 degrees when we left) but I am wearing a big warm USC sweatshirt that our oldest son, Jared, gave me for Christmas and nice leather  gloves that will do a great job at keeping my hands warm, but after that cold spell, it is suppose to be BEAUTIFUL.

The card I have is one that I did a while back but didn't get it uploaded until now.  I have a great friend at work whose grandmother is going through chemo once again and she is struggling because they are so close.  The  people I work with signed the card for her and I do believe it brightened her day - Shernetta, I love you and hope Nana is doing better, especially with the shakes you bring her from Sonic :)

I'm going to cut it short since I've got a special post to work on for tomorrow and then off to finish packing.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll you see when we get back.
