Something different

Hey:

Even though I have many more birthday cards to show you, I wanted to show you something different today.  I have been playing around with my copics lately and still have a long way to go, but it's like I tell Patrick with regard to his trumpet, the more you practice the better you get at it, so practice I do :)

I have a friend at work what wanted me to make a thank you card for her mom and thought, let's get the copics out and play, so I did and here is the end result.  I did enjoy it and look forward to playing more often to get it where I want to be, but for now, I'm just having a great time being a kid and coloring :)

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Another birthday card

I'm back and it's a Monday :)  I hope everyone has had a great one.

As I stated in my previous post, September was a very busy birthday month, so I will probably show you tons on birthday cards over the next few weeks.

This is a short post because I'm off to go listen to Patrick practice his trumpet (he is getting better everyday).

Enjoy your evening.

Thank you to my great friend, Leigh

I first off want to apologize to my friend Leigh for not getting this posted until today - I had hoped to do it sooner, but didn't make it to the computer to get a post up and apologize for this Leigh.  Leigh and I become friends a few years back when we joined a group via SplitcoastStapmers (wonderful place) and we haven't looked back since :)  Leigh lives in Australia along with two other Aussie ladies in our group (Jean and Karen) and even though that group is no more, we have all remained friends and I am so blessed to know them.  Leigh has been so great in showing me her country and it has been fun learning about it - hopefully one of these days, I'm going to make it that way.  Well, Leigh surprised me a few weeks back by telling me she had something coming my way and was so delighted when I opened up my package and found the below items.  Isn't the koala hanger just adorable?  I told Leigh after receiving it, that koala bears are my favorite animals in the world, so you know the adage, great minds think alike?  Well, this is proof positive they do :)  Along with the hanger, she sent me some notepads, which I have already used several of them (they fit in my purse perfectly).

Thank you Leigh for sending me such wonderful gifts and I have already placed my favorite shirt on my hanger so my koala will take very good care of it.  You are so wonderful to think of me and I appreciate it very much.

~~Hugs~~

It's coming ...

... fall that is :)  I am really hoping that sentiment is true because even though we have been told it's going to be in the low 80s this week, today is so muggy.  We are suppose to be getting rain, but it has materialized yet.  I hope everyone is gearing up for the leaving changes, bringing out their rakes and cooler temperatures (unless you're on the other side of the world, where you should be starting spring here soon).  I know I am so ready for the fall season to get here - it is my favorite time of year.

I am showing you a birthday card today because I have made so many birthday cards this month (it was a very busy month at work - I believe there was over 15 birthdays there, including mine) but have had so much fun making them.  I am hoping to start on some halloween cards this week as well as some baby announcement cards for a good friend who just had her baby girl.

I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Beautiful colors

Happy Sunday everyone:

Today I have prepared a card using the colors from the Color Throwdown challenge blog and am embarrassed to say, this is my first time submitting a card using their challenge and find my asking "where in the world have I been" - I visit them often (my great friend, Broni, is a part of the design team and always have a great time commenting on her submissions) but just haven't participated before.  Well, today is the day :)  I love these colors and can see that I will be using it often.  I not only used the color challenge on this card, but used the sketch given to us today by The Sweetest Thing blog - I have used Karen's sketches before and always find them fun to do.  I couldn't think of a sentiment for this card, so just left it blank and when something comes up and I feel this card will fit in perfectly, will put something in the lower right hand corner.

I am looking forward to a great Sunday full of football and cleaning out Photoshop (I am still learning how to use this program, but am finding it to be full of surprises and is tons of fun to play with) - I have so many photos that can be cleaned out.  After that, I think I'm going to take a peak at Etsy to see about setting up a store there (I have a friend from working who is always telling me I need to do this and have finally decided to give it a try).

Well, I'm off.  Hope you all have a great day and I'll see you soon.

Another couple of challenges

Happy Hump Day :)

I hope you are all having a great week and looking forward to the weekend (I know that I am already).  As I mentioned earlier this week, I have been getting back into challenges after being on heitis over the summer and boy, have I been having fun.  I have combined two challenges on this one card:  the sketch is given to us by Critter Sketch and it was so much fun to use and the color challenge from Stamp TV where you need to use yellow, brown, kraft and red (I didn't realize until after I finished this, that there wasn't too much red in there, but there's one stripe, so hopefully it will meet the challenge).
I have a few more I will show you before the end of the week, but am going back to playing some more.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Happy Labor Day

Happy Labor Day everyone.  I hope you are all enjoying the day like I am.

I am finally getting back into working on some challenges (I am so thankful to my friend Deb for providing us with "The Daily Dare" because without it I couldn't keep up with all the challenges out there - thanks Deb)  The one I have here is made using a sketch challenge over at 2 Sketches 4 You and the color challenge from Christian Paper Crafts (keyword CPC-CM73).  I love this sketch and the colors are one of my favorites (pink, gray and white - the gray isn't really showing up here, but I promise it is gray).  I am making a card basket for a fund raiser my family is doing for my Uncle Don this month and hope the winner will enjoy what goes in the basket.

Well, I'm off to work on another challenge.  Have a great afternoon.

New Challenge Blog

My good friend Jill has posted on her blog that she has been selected to be a part of the design team for a new challenge blog, Make it Crafty (what a great name, uh?) and want to send out a congratulations to her.  They are very lucky to have her on their team because she is so talented.  Not only are they gearing up to have their first challenge, but they are offering some fabulous blog candy, so head on over and give them a look.
Congratulations again Jill for making their team - I know you'll have a great time.
