Hello

Hello there - I hope you are all well.  I don't have an outstanding card to show you today - I'm still struggling to get my mojo back, but it's going to come soon, I can feel it :)  I made a card like this a while back while I was visiting my friend Jennifer one Saturday, but sent it to a good friend who needed a little pick me up.  I received an email from that friend asking me to make her more in different colors, so thought, well yes, that would be perfect because since my mojo is missing, can make these because there is no thinking about it :)  It is very simple but says a lot.

Good morning everyone:

As some of you may know, I am participating in a Twenty-Twelve in Photos challenge this year and have decided to make a blog just for that.  The name of the new blog is ... worth a thousand words ... Elizabeth, my daughter, came up with the fun name and think it's wonderful because a picture does say "it's worth a thousands words".  If you are interested in keeping up with my photos, here is the link ...worth a thousand words...

Thinking of You

Hey everyone:

I have so lost my mojo and can't seem to find it - does that ever happen to any of you?  It's frustrating - UGH.  But alas, I was asked to make a card for a lady at work whose sister is going to have heart surgery this week; she asked me last week and even though I worked on several, just couldn't get the feel for what I was doing.  I found the sketch of this card and my mind started clicking - thank goodness :)

The paper is from BasicGrey Green at Heart collection (love BasicGrey); the stamp is from SU charming set and the ink is from CTMH - I just love being able to combine all my favorite products together :)

I am really hoping that doing this card will get my mojo started back up again :)  Time will tell.

A Card

Okay, to show you all that I have been doing something other than taking tons of pictures, I'm finally posting a card :) even though it's not a happy card.  I have several friends who have lost their fathers in the past few weeks and had to make sympathy cards to send and say that I am thinking of them through this difficult time.  As I'm sure it is with you, making them are always the hardest ones for me to make.

It's busy here, so I'm going to be short tonight, but I do hope that you have a great Monday !!

Day Seven - 28 years later ...

Yesterday I posted a picture of Jim and I when we were first married 28 years ago, so I thought I would get a picture of us now. Neither one of us are one to like having our picture taken, but wanted to brave it and just do it (my good friend, Lori and I were talking about this the other day and made the decision to do better at that). Patrick took this picture and thought he did a good job (he loves to take pictures – I can see him becoming a photographer one of these days).

Day Six - 28 years

Well, today is the day I married my best friend 28 years ago. I can’t believe it has been that long but even though we have had trials throughout those years, my life with Jim has been amazing. We have 3 wonderful children and are so very proud of them; we have the same goals for the remainder of our lives (can you say travel and motorcycle - I know that we can); and we can finish each other’s thought just by looking at each other and laugh at the fact when we say what we were thinking and it is identical.

God truly blessed me 30 years ago when He brought Jim into my life, but He made it even better the day we married and has continued blessing me during all these wonderful years by being with the best friend and husband EVER !!!

This picture was taken a few weeks after we got married and I know it's not a picture I took today, but wanted to put our very first picture as a married couple onto my Twenty-twelve in photos so I can have it in my book at the end of the year.

Day Four - Singing in His presence ...

Day Four

While we were cooking supper tonight, Patrick was whistling (he has been a whistler ever since he was little) and realized he was whistling "Jesus Loves Me".  Well, I couldn't help but smile because when I turned around saw that he was wearing the t-shirt he made while in Bible Camp this past summer while staying with my parents in NC.  It says "come before His presence with singing" and I would say that Patrick is singing in His presence but in a different tone :)  Thought it would make the perfect shot for today.

Day Three - Poor Patrick

January 3, 2012 - Day Three

Well, today was a day that we haven't experienced in a while; sick day. Patrick started running a fever and had a sore throat Sunday, but luckily it wasn't strep but a viral infection. He took a nap when we came home from the doctor and read when he woke up - he loves this book. It looks as though he will be staying home again tomorrow because he is still running a fever, poor thing, I hate it when my kids are sick :(

Love is in the Air ...

Today is exciting for me in that not only is it the beginning of a new year, but it is time for me to make my first post as a design team member for Just Tracys Crafts Challenge Blog.  I am so excited to be a part of this great group of ladies and am honored to have been invited to be on the team.  The challenge for this month is based on a theme - "Love is in the Air", gearing us up for Valentine's Day next month.  The card stock, patterned paper and ink are from Stampin Up, the punch is Martha Stewart and since I didn't have an appropriate sentiment in my stamp sets, decided to use my own handwriting to finish it off :)

Happy New Year

Well, it's the new year and that means not only are we starting a new year, but bring on the hoppin' John, collard greens and cornbread :) I only cook this meal on New Year's Day and look forward to it every time. It was GREAT !!!  This is the first photo I am posting not only here but as part of a great FaceBook group called Twenty-Twelve in Photos and can't wait to share the remaining 365 (this is leap year, so we have one extra day to get that photo taken) photos with you.
