Timeless Tuesday

Hey everyone:

Can you believe it, I'm back so soon :)  I was inspired this evening to participate in a challenge that I have never joined in on until now.  I have two great friends, Broni and Denise, who recently became design team members over at Flourishes and after seeing what they created today for the Timeless Tuesday sketch challenge, just had to get in on the fun :)
I purchased a Flourishes stamp set a few years back and am embarrased to say that I never used it until now.  The really sad part is the set contains my favorite flower, sunflowers; you would think I would have worn it out by now.  I can tell you now, though, I will start using this set more often because it is gorgeous.

Not only did I do this challenge, but I actually pulled out my copic markers to color the flowers.  If you know me, these markers really intimidate me, but I had a lot of fun using them and have told myself I'm going to start coloring an image every night until I get more comfortable with them.  Also, if you take a close look, you will see that I used flower soft in the middle of the flower, which is another thing I don't use enough.  Boy, I really stepped out of my box tonight :)

Well, I'm off for the evening.

I hope you have a great one.

The Pink Elephant

Happy Monday everyone:

I hope you all have had a great one - we received some awesome medical news regarding my mother-in-law, so it has been for us here.
I have been trying to stay up-to-date with all the wonderful challenges out there and the one I worked on over the weekend was one that I hadn't done in a few years, so thought I would continue the trend and participate in another one I haven't played with in a while.  I love The Pink Elephant challenges and know that I'm going to be participating in them more often.  This week's challenge is all about ribbon and if you know me, I am a true ribbon creator :) so this was one a lot of fun.  I was so surprised, too, at how fast I put this one together (that doesn't happen very often) - I like those 10 minute cards, don't you :)

I hope you head over and join in on the fun.

Have a great one

I whipped up a challenge card today :)

Happy Sunday everyone:

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend like I am.  It has been one full of helping Jim clean out his office (he starts a new job in the next few weeks and with being at his current job for 15 years, it took us a while to get started - there was no way we would finish in one day), clean my house a little and then stamp the rest of the night while watching some great Olympic games.  We watched the tennis match this morning against Federer and Murray and wow, what a game.  I love Federer, but was excited to see Murray take gold - I'm just a big tennis fan either way, so it was just great to watch.  I have loved every moment of the Olympics this year and will be sad to see it end.  London has done an AWESOME job being the host this year.  I will be so excited when we travel there one of these days not only to be where they Olympics were once held, but to visit my wonderful friends who live there (waving hello to you !!).
Okay, on to my card.  I was perusing the challenge blogs and came across one that I always tell myself I'm going to participate in more, but for some odd reason, never do :( but I have placed it on my Pinterest board as one that must get used more often.  I have met some great friends from this wonderful design team and it is always so much fun seeing what they have come up with and talk with them.  The Paper Players is having a theme challenge this month and it is all about "Back to School".  Can you believe it's already time to start thinking about the kids going back to school?  Where in the world did the summer go?  I know one thing, Patrick had a great time this summer and even though he says he wants to go back to school, he is going to miss the summer.  When I think of going back to school, I think of the teachers and all that they do to help our children become better adults by teaching them what is needed academically to get them where they want to be.  With that in mind, I wanted to make a "thank you" card for each of every teacher out there, whether it be a public, private or home school teacher.  You are all amazing and thank you just doesn't start expressing how much you do and go through every year.  I am even more excited about this because our daughter Elizabeth is on her last year of college where she is majoring in education and English - in May of 2013, she will graduate with a bachelors and then she is off to teach high school English.  We are very proud of her and so this card also goes out to her for all that she is doing to inspire future teachers.

Well, I've talked enough, so I'm off to go find another challenge to work on today - it is going to be a fun day today, I can already see it :)

Get Well

Happy Tuesday:

Well, as I told you yesterday, I'm showing you something other than a wedding card today :)  We have several friend who have been under the weather lately, so I thought it would be good to send them a little pick me up.   When I started this card, I wasn't sure about the color, but I am rather pleased with the final result (I don't know why there is a glare, but couldn't get it any better).  I hope it cheers my friend up and that she starts to feel better soon.

Have a great one.

Another wedding card

Hey:

I'm back and on a Monday of all days :)  What a day it has been.
Here is another wedding card I made this weekend to sell in the shop.  I really like this card because he can be changed in so many ways, either by color or by sentiment.  I'm going to be working on some other cards tonight, so hopefully tomorrow, you'll see something different :)

Enjoy your evening/day !!

Mr. & Mrs.

I have been working on wedding and baby cards to put in the shops I have selling my cards.  This is one of them.  I believe the next time I use this image, I'm going to emboss it because I have used it so much that it doesn't ink that well anymore (any suggestions on how to fix that?)
I'm watching the Olympics, so my post is going to be really short tonight - sorry.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Exciting news ...

I recently received wonderful news today about some cards I delivered to a gift store in our small town that called me a few weeks back asking that I bring some in for a look to see if they wanted to take a chance and sell them. I got an email last week from the owner stating they loved all of the cards I presented and will be happy to showcase them in their store to sell !! Now to get a display stand and costs sheet set up. So very excited !!  Here is one of the monogram cards I had in the mix.

Happy weekend - I hope you are all exciting about watching the Olympics - I know that we are.  It's always a fun time for us when they are on.

Have a great one

Well, as the title says, I'm posting this while it is raining and I love to hear it rain, especially when I'm tucked up in my house all cosy and safe.  As I stated early this week, I have been going through my pictures and here's another card I found that hasn't been posted yet.  We have had a lot of friends who have had family members pass away in the past few months, so I have been having to make too many of those :(  I cased this one from a repin on pinterest but now I can't find it to find out who I followed, but I loved it so had to give it a try.  Tying the ribbon on the corner of the card was a bear and am not sure I'll try that again.

I hope everyone is doing well and keeping comfortable.
