Hello

Hello everyone:

It's been a while and am sorry for the delay in posting a card.  I have once again been neglecting my blogging friends but the computer mojo has just evaporated from my body :(  I don't know if it's the spring weather or just me, but I just don't have the desire to sit in front of the computer to do blog posts or stay on it for more than 20-30 minutes at a time.  It seems like the only time I am on the computer is at work or when I am posting the photos I take for my Twenty-twelve in photos project I have been doing this year (so far, I'm staying with that - if you want to head over and take a look at what I've been up to with that, go to ...worth a thousand words...).  I got a kindle fire for Christmas and have been grabbing that to cuddle up on the couch and play solitaire or read.  I do hope you are patient with me as I take a short break from blogging; however, I am working on some creations, so don't despair, I will be showing you some new things when I get back in a week or so.

I hope you are all having a great time and I am thinking of you everyday.

Love

Janet

Happy Anniversary

It's Monday morning and am ready to start the week:)
I have been doing a lot of cards for my friend Nina lately and am so thankful to her for letting me get creative and have loved every minute of it.  She had asked me to make her mother and father-in-law a 50 year anniversary card and wanted to put some male colors in it so it won't be completely female, so I used the blue color, which is so pretty IRL.
I did something new, for me at least, this time and that was to ink up my embossing folder with the ink before I ran it through the machine (I can tell you that I will be doing that a lot in the future).  I used the CB textile texture folder and Bermuda Bay ink and cardstock - it turned out great.  I went to a stamp class a few weeks back and fell in love with the fresh vintage set and everyday enchantment designer paper - they are so pretty.  I didn't have the SU markers to use, so I used my copic markers and colored the stamp before I stamped it on the SU whisper white cardstock.  Nina was very happy with how it turned out and I was pleased with out it worked it.

I hope you have a great Monday.

It's Tigger

 Good morning:
It's a beautiful day here in our neck of the woods and what a better way to start off the "Spring" forward than showing you a Tigger birthday card:)  My friend Nina asked me to make her son a 2nd birthday card with Tigger since that was the theme she had used and couldn't pass up that challenge.  What fun it was to make this card.
I used copic markers to color in Tigger and the presents (I'm still learning how to use them and the more I do, the more fun I have).  Patrick helped me with the background DP because I had several that I could have used, but thought I would get a kid's point of view and am glad I did because I think this was the perfect one.  I wasn't able to get a Happy Birthday sentiment on the outside but thought why not put something on the inside and used the SU pennant punch - didn't it turn out great?
Well, I'm off to work on more projects today.  I hope you have a great one !!

TTFN(ta-taa for now) - don't you love it:)

MyMemories Digital Scrapbooking

Have you ever considered digital scrapbooking?  I was so hesitate for the longest time in giving it a try, but after several attempts with different programs, have found the one I have fallen in love with.  It’s MyMemories Suite Digital Software and it is so much fun to use.  I now feel that I can catch up on my scrapbooking, which is so far behind.  I purchased this digital scrapbook software through a promotion my good friend Lori had a few months back and have loved every minute of it.  It is so fun and easy to use - Lisa J. also has some very informative and helpful tutorials on their blog that helps so much with any questions you may have.  Head over to MyMemories and use this code STMMMS55599, which gives you a discount when you purchase this great software.
Thank you for giving this wonderful software a try and I know you’ll have as much fun as I do with it.

Hugs

In Sympathy

Hi everyone:

I have a dear friend whose father died last week and my heart just breaks for her, they were very close.  I was asked by my office mates to make a card for her to let her know that we are keeping her in our thoughts and prayers.  I have been playing around a lot with distressing and thought this one turned okay - I am having to learn that too much is not necessarily needed but sometimes it's just right.

I hope you have a great Friday.

It's time ...

... for the March Just Tracys Crafts Challenge.  This month, it's all about hats :)

Now, as I was telling my wonderful design team members, this was a tough challenge before me because I am one who is more comfortable with flowers, ribbons and buttons, but after talking with a friend at work about what I could possibly do (and she doesn't even make cards - I think she should or at least give me more ideas), she said, "Janet, why don't you put a party hat on the front of the card" - voila'.  After I got the stuff together and on my card, I still am not happy with it, but it's growing on me.  It looks off centered in the photo, but I promise it's straight :)

I hope you will join in on the challenge this month so I can get some wonderful ideas on how to make different creations using hats in future projects; I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Have a great March (it is coming in like a lion here today and hope it will go out like a lamb) and I'll see you soon.

Happy Birthday Misty

Today is the birthday of a great friend from work so I had to make a very special card for her :)  As you can probably tell, she is one who loves the color purple and butterflies.  I was very surprised at how fast this card came together once I got started - I just love it when they do that.  Misty, I hope you have a great birthday.

Monday birthday

Hey everyone:
We have a very good friend who celebrated his 60th birthday last week and went to his birthday party this weekend (Happy Birthday Harry) - what fun we had :)  Harry loves crossword puzzles, so when I received my This & That Echo Park paper pad last week and saw this paper, knew I would be using it for his birthday card.  As you can see, I have played around with colors again, but when you have great paper to play with, it comes easier.

Enjoy your evening.
